CLE Town Planning + Design was engaged to obtain planning approval for a residential aged care proposal for Opal Aged Care via the Joint Development Assessment Panel pathway.
This project presented challenges given it was for the redevelopment of an existing residential aged care facility in an established, low-density residential precinct. Substantial engagement occurred with the local authority prior to, and following, lodgement with a focus on the potential impacts of development within the surrounding residential context. Community consultation was critical in ensuring a timely and positive planning outcome.
CLE Town Planning + Design secured approval for a 3 storey, 136-bed residential aged care facility incorporating a consulting rooms at ground level. CLE Town Planning + Design prepared significant justification for this aspect of the proposal recognising that the consulting rooms were a critical aspect in allowing for ‘ageing in place’, with services readily available to residents and the broader community.
