In 2020, CLE obtained development approval for Nexus Recycling for the first used lead-acid battery recycling facility in WA. The facility enables the separation, packaging and shipping of battery components for re-use in new batteries. This service has previously only been available in the Eastern States, so environmental benefits in terms of transport, as well as for the materials themselves, are being realised.
