HEALTH

Planning and design of major healthcare campuses and facilities is shifting rapidly – meeting changing clinical needs and community expectations, as well as working with the limitations or opportunities of existing facilities or available sites.

Each project calls for a very tailored approach and a ‘practical creativity’ that supports innovation in the delivery of health and connected services.

WA CHILDREN'S HOSPICE

Perth Children's Hospital Foundation

Over three years, CLE Town Planning + Design worked tirelessly to achieve WAPC approval (following an assessment by the SDAU) for a new Children’s Hospice in the prestigious coastal suburb of Swanbourne.

The need was irrefutable – for the first time, children with life-limiting conditions would be able to receive care while they lived with their families in a bespoke homely environment.

However, there would be challenges in securing tenure for the selected site and ensuring the community and a raft of other sophisticated stakeholders had input to the project.

We provided expert planning advice, convened and chaired a Stakeholder Reference Group, negotiated a new planning approval pathway, and worked with a large, multi-disciplinary consultant team to achieve a successful outcome.
