In 2017, CLE Town Planning + Design, on behalf of M/Group secured a significant planning approval for a five-storey development consisting of 56 multiple dwellings and 16 grouped dwellings located within the Development WA Shoreline Estate, known as M31.
CLE Town Planning + Design provided preliminary design advice, coordinated the planning approvals process through the JDAP as well freehold and survey-strata subdivision approvals to enable staged development of three components of the the site.
CLE Town Planning + Design’s role required active ongoing engagement with the City of Cockburn, the coordination of a specialist project team and consideration of the proposal by the City of Cockburn/ Development WA Design Review Panel. Preliminary design input by CLE Town Planning + Design, with regard to the development layout and the overarching planning framework, contributed to a timely and favourable outcome.

In 2018, CLE Town Planning + Design, on behalf of M/Group, secured approval for a local structure plan amendment to increase the site density coding and facilitate the delivery of a three-storey grouped dwelling development within the Development WA Shoreline Estate, known as M32.
CLE Town Planning + Design coordinated and prepared all planning inputs for the development approval and concurrent subdivision approval. CLE Town Planning + Design’s role required active ongoing engagement with the City of Cockburn, coordination of a specialist project team and engagement at the City of Cockburn / Development WA Design Review Panel. CLE Town Planning + Design worked closely with the project architect with regard to the development layout and the overarching planning framework to deliver a unique and favourable outcome for the project.

Eden Beach (Beach Club)

The Eden Beach ‘Beach Club’ is a multi-purposed community hub, comprising of a tavern/restaurant, kiosk, storage space and public amenities. Nestled within, and forming a critical part of, the foreshore park, its design is of the highest quality respecting its coastal context and surroundings. With sweeping views along the coast, the ‘Beach Club’ integrates foreshore activity and use, with the adjacent Eden Beach Estate.
CLE Town Planning + Design was responsible for obtaining planning approval for the ‘Beach Club’, enabling provision of this key focal point for the local and wider community.
Melville Pde, Como

This project involved the redevelopment of an existing dilapidated commercial tenancy at 127 Melville Parade, Como with a five-storey apartment building (13 apartments). The application was a refinement to a previous JDAP approval, these refinements responding to market conditions, buyer expectations and an altered site context. CLE was responsible for the coordination and approval of the project through the Metro Inner South JDAP and overcame a recommendation for refusal by the City of South Perth to achieve approval for the Client. CLE was supported by Pennock Architects who led the team at Design Review to achieve strong support in all areas by the Panel.
The project is a significant contribution to the revitalisation of the Preston Street Neighbourhood Centre Precinct and delivers diversity of housing in a highly desirable location.
