Busy, vibrant Activity Centres – often built around major public transport links – become the beating heart of any community. CLE Town Planning + Design works proactively with economists, engagement specialists and the community to design, plan and gain approvals for lively urban villages that deliver for everyone.

Caversham Village

Western Corporate

CLE is working with the Taylors Private Estate developer, Western Corporate, and acclaimed local architects ZARQ, to obtain planning approvals for the final aspects of the Caversham Village neighbourhood centre. The final stage of development consists of a cleverly designed townhouse and commercial development that delivers site-responsive housing choices and completes Waldeck Road as a main street, positioning uses such that foot traffic is optimised and car dependence is minimised.

Yanchep City Centre

Tokyo Corporation

CLE is proud to be part of the coastal town of Yanchep’s transformation story.

The Yanchep City Centre Activity Centre Plan was developed back in 2010 – a thoughtful, long-term plan for 106ha of land identified for the Yanchep Strategic Metropolitan Centre.

At the heart of the City Centre is the Yanchep METRONET Rail Station – the central public transport connection, and critical to the design solution.  The Activity Centre Plan laid the foundations for future development – more than 3,600 homes, the primary school and more than 450,000m² of commercial floor space for shops, restaurants and other enterprises delivering thousands of jobs.

Parkland Heights

Rockingham Park

In 2023, CLE secured development approval for the Parkland Heights Neighbourhood Centre on behalf of Rockingham Park. Located in southern Baldivis, the Centre will bring a range of services and amenities to the community, including a full line supermarket, specialty retailers and a food and beverage precinct. Approval of the development application marked a significant milestone for the project, which commenced with amendments to the existing structure plan and the local governments ‘Commercial Strategy’ to elevate the status of the Centre from ‘local’ to neighbourhood’ and increase the allowable floorspace from 1,500m² to 10,000m². This was a design-led project which also involved the team preparing a Local Development Plan for the Centre to facilitate main street development and address relevant design considerations for the site.
