Urban Growth Monitor

On behalf of two separate Clients, CLE Town Planning + Design reviewed the WAPC’s Urban Growth Monitor (UGM) as it relates to the north-east and south-west sub-regions. The exercise endeavoured to review what the UGM considers to be ‘land supply’, applying a critical planning lens to determine whether the land can be developed for residential purposes and the factors that influence the timing and ability to deliver the land.

MD Code Advice | Analysis

In early 2021 CLE Town Planning + Design undertook a detailed review of the Draft Medium Density R-Code (MD R-Code) which was released for public comment by Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage.

 

CLE Town Planning + Design undertook design testing, consulted with a range of leading industry representatives, presented findings to a variety of clients with greenfield and infill projects and prepared submissions responding to key issues for improvement.

Department of Communities Due Diligence

The Social Housing Economic Recovery Package was announced as part of the $444 million State Government housing stimulus package released on 7 June 2020.

 

As part of this package, CLE was engaged by the Department of Communities to undertake planning due diligence to inform the acquisition of strategic sites across the Perth metropolitan area to facilitate increased social housing opportunities.

R-Codes Practice Notes

CLE Town Planning + Design were engaged by the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage to prepare the first iteration of the R-Codes Practice Notes. This involved drawing on CLE Town Planning + Design’s experience interpreting and implementing the R-Codes to provide textual and diagrammatic clarification on the most commonly misinterpreted and debated R-Code standards. The Practice Notes were reconciled with the existing FAQs to provide a useful tool for planning practitioners, designers and homeowners.
